Terms of Service

You must be legally able to agree to these Terms. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your Google account and devices secure. Information you provide must be accurate, and you may not impersonate another person or misuse another person’s account.

Scoring Waves provides surf forecasts, break matching, buoy and tide information, saved surf sessions, and optional Google Calendar synchronization. Features and data sources may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued. We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time.

If you connect Google Calendar, you authorize the Service to access calendar information and create, update, or delete synchronized surf-session events as described in our Privacy Policy. You can disconnect the integration at any time.

Surfing and ocean activities are inherently dangerous. Forecasts, ratings, maps, buoy readings, tide estimates, live camera views, and recommendations may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or inaccurate. Conditions can change rapidly and may differ from displayed data.

The Service is for general informational and planning purposes only. It is not an emergency, navigation, weather-warning, or safety service and is not a substitute for official alerts, local authorities, lifeguards, your own observation, training, or judgment. You are solely responsible for deciding whether, where, and when to enter the ocean and for using appropriate equipment and precautions.

You agree not to:

• violate law, infringe another person’s rights, or submit unlawful or harmful content;
• interfere with, overload, probe, or bypass the Service or its security measures;
• use automated means to scrape or access the Service except with our written permission;
• introduce malware or attempt to access accounts, systems, or data without authorization; or
• misrepresent forecast information as an official safety or emergency warning.

You retain ownership of content you submit. You give us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, display, and transmit that content only as needed to operate and improve the Service. You are responsible for your content and must have the rights needed to provide it. Content shared publicly may be viewed and further shared by others.

The Service relies on third-party services and data, including Google services and weather, ocean, mapping, camera, and hosting providers. Their own terms and privacy policies may apply. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services, content, availability, or data accuracy.

Except for your content and third-party materials, the Service and its software, design, branding, and original content belong to Scoring Waves or its licensors. These Terms give you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the Service as provided.

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or threaten the Service or other users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service or its data will be accurate, complete, secure, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular surf or ocean conditions.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scoring Waves and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or opportunities, arising from the Service or ocean activities. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
