Privacy Policy

When you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier, name, email address, and profile image. We use this information to create and secure your account.

We store information you provide or create through the Service, such as selected surf areas, forecast preferences, saved surf sessions, session notes, and related wave, wind, swell, tide, location, and timing details.

We may also collect ordinary technical information needed to operate and protect the Service, such as request logs, device or browser information, IP address, and error or diagnostic data.

Connecting Google Calendar is optional. If you choose to connect it, Scoring Waves requests permission to view calendar information and to create, update, and delete calendar events. We use that access only to show calendar availability alongside your surf plans and to synchronize surf-session events that you choose to manage with the Service.

We may store Google authorization tokens, the connected calendar identifier, Google event identifiers, connection and sync timestamps, and sync errors so the integration continues to work. Calendar events read for the calendar view are retrieved as needed; we do not use Google Calendar data for advertising, profiling, or any unrelated purpose.

Scoring Waves’ use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We use information to:

• provide authentication, forecasts, personalization, surf planning, and calendar synchronization;
• maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the Service;
• respond to support, privacy, and account requests; and
• comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information or Google user data. We do not share it for targeted advertising. We may share information with service providers that host, maintain, secure, or support the Service, but only as needed for them to perform those services for us. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets with appropriate protections.

Forecasts or other content that you intentionally make public or share through a public link may be viewed by others. Do not include sensitive personal information in public content.

We retain account information and saved content while your account is active and as reasonably needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and protect the Service. Backup copies may remain for a limited period after deletion.

You can disconnect Google Calendar from the calendar page. This stops future access and removes stored access and refresh tokens from the active connection. You can also revoke access from your Google Account permissions. Disconnecting does not automatically remove events already written to your calendar.

To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account or personal information, email us at dustyzietz@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No storage or transmission system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided such information, contact us so we can delete it.
